Early in the Morning, you will meet your Guide for the 3-day Christmas gorilla trekking tour and receive a brief about the tour. Later, kickstart your journey in Kampala with beautiful views overlooking the city. You shall have a stopover at the Equator in Uganda for the Equator water experience, and later continue the journey with a lunch break in Mbarara. After Lunch, you will drive for the next 2 – 3 hours and check into your accommodation for the next day’s Gorilla trekking. You will have dinner and later have a pre-briefing about gorilla trekking, most especially what to pack and the dos and don’ts. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in the southwestern part of Uganda, spanning an area of 321 sq km. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna species, including 75 mammal species such as mountain gorillas, L’Hoest Monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white-tailed monkeys, red-tailed colobus monkeys, Forest elephants, forest hogs, giant hogs, buffaloes, and antelopes.
Bird species such as blue-headed sunbird, Grader’s broadbill, black-faced rufous warbler, handsome francolin, purple-breasted sunbird, Ruwenzori Apalis, yellow-streaked greenbul, Shelley’s Crimsoning, regal sunbird, olive-breasted greenbul, mountain masked Apalis, Neumann’s warbler, among others. The park is famous for mountain gorillas, and it attracts both local and international tourists who come for gorilla trekking and other wildlife safari activities. Mountain gorillas can be traced in only 3 countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo.
