3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe, driving north through Uganda’s countryside. The journey takes you through rural towns, farmlands, and scenic landscapes, offering insight into local life along the way. A stop is made for refreshments before continuing towards the park.

Upon arrival, you enter Murchison Falls National Park and proceed to your lodge for check-in and lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure, allowing you to relax and take in the stunning views from the lodge. Depending on your arrival time, a short evening game drive may be arranged, giving you your first chance to spot wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, you set out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, which is known for excellent wildlife viewing. The open savannah is home to elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, and leopards. Your guide will help track animals and share insights about the park’s ecosystem and wildlife behaviour. The morning light also provides great opportunities for photography.

In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. This is one of the most scenic and relaxing activities in the park. Along the riverbanks, you will see large numbers of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species. The cruise ends near the base of the falls, where the Nile dramatically narrows and thunders through the gorge. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you check out of the lodge and drive to the top of Murchison Falls. Here, you take a guided walk to view the falls from above, witnessing the sheer power of the Nile as it crashes through the narrow rock passage. The views are spectacular and offer excellent photo opportunities.

After the visit, you begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, with stops made along the way for lunch and refreshments. You arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 3-day Murchison Falls National Park safari, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s wildlife and natural beauty.
