Safari Overview
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Kibale National Park
In the morning, your safari guide picks you up from Kampala or Entebbe and begins the journey to western Uganda, heading toward Kibale National Park. The drive passes through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and traditional rural settlements.
In the evening, you arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest, check in, and relax. Dinner is served as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking adventure
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience
In the morning, after breakfast, you report to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest is famous for its high concentration of primates, offering excellent chances of encountering chimpanzees and other monkey species.
In the evening, you return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner. You may enjoy a nature walk or simply unwind in the peaceful forest surroundings.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the morning, you check out and begin your scenic drive to southwestern Uganda, heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through beautiful landscapes, rolling hills, and rural communities.
In the evening, you arrive at your lodge near Bwindi, check in, and relax. Dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the gorilla trekking experience.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience
In the morning, you transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing before entering the dense rainforest of Bwindi. Guided by experienced rangers, you trek through the forest until you locate a habituated mountain gorilla family.
In the evening, you return to the lodge and relax after your gorilla trekking experience. Dinner is served as you reflect on one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife encounters.
Day 5: Transfer to Kikihi Airstrip and Fly to Entebbe
In the morning, after breakfast, you check out and transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight. The short drive offers final views of the beautiful southwestern Uganda landscapes and forested hills around Bwindi.
In the evening, you arrive in Kampala by flight, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward journey. This marks the end of your 5-Day Gorilla and Chimp Trekking Safari.
